Preparation

  • Cast a tire mold (at least one hour ahead of class) as described in Activity 1.
  • Set up to demonstrate the casting of a second mold, reserving the first to dry and be released at the end of demonstration.
  • Place one tennis ball sized piece of clay into each of 10 plastic bags.
  • Gather 10 small textured objects to make impressions with (keys, coins, rocks, toys, figurines).
  • Assemble student supplies
